All IBCLCs® are listed on the IBLCE® website at https://iblce.org/public-registry/.

If you’re unable to find your staff member on the list, you can complete the certification verification form on this website page, and send it to the Asia Pacific office at apa@iblce.org.

Insurance for Australian IBCLCs®

Professional indemnity insurance (PII) is designed to protect you in the event where you make a mistake and are sued.

Professional indemnity insurance options for nurses or midwives include:

  • Buy your own cover
  • Cover through employer
  • Get cover with membership, e.g. of a union

For nurses and midwives in Australia, there is an option to utilise insurance afforded via membership of Australian Nurses and Midwives Federation (ANMF). LCANZ has established support from Fenton Green & Co – Private Practice Insurance Brokers (Australia only)

The Lactation Consultants of Australia and New Zealand (LCANZ) has partnered with insurance brokers Fenton Green, to provide a comprehensive and exclusive insurance policy for LCANZ members who are based in Australia.

The Professional Indemnity and Public & Products Liability insurance policy arranged by Fenton Green is specifically designed to meet the requirements of LCANZ members and provides cover for work performed as a lactation consultant. Various limits of indemnity are available to members to suit your individual circumstances.

If you practice as a nurse or midwife in addition to being a lactation consultant, this policy is not for you and you will need to source alternative cover.
