Heather is an Endorsed Midwife and an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), practicing independently, and also working as a Women’s Health Nurse in a regional NSW Health Service. Heather has been a Registered Nurse (RN) for 40 years, a Midwife (MW) for 36 years and has worked across many public and private health services in the community and in the hospital systems as an RN/MW and as an IBCLC in specific hospital and community based Lactation Consultant (LC) roles, including Neonatal Intensive Care.  Her LC roles have required a commitment to the professional development of Health Professionals in the infant feeding space, a role Heather really enjoys. She is passionate about and dedicated to Women’s and Children’s Health, particularly Infant Feeding, Lactation and Breastfeeding Management.  Heather is a member of the Australian Breastfeeding Association (ABA), has practiced as an ABA Counsellor, and represents LCANZ as a core member of WBTi Aus (World Breastfeeding Trends Initiative) and on Research Projects dedicated to improving the experience of women and their infant feeding support needs. Heather is committed to the protection, promotion and support of breastfeeding, and encouraging and supporting all women on their mothering journey, focusing on their holistic postnatal care needs.
