Debra Dixon

IBCLC since 2011. For the past eight years, she has owned and managed a private lactation consulting practice from Dubbo in regional NSW.

Debra originally qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1983 where she subsequently specialised in perioperative nursing at Prince of Wales Hospital, Prince Henry Hospital and The Scottish Hospital in Sydney and at both Dubbo Base and Dubbo Private Hospitals. She also qualified as a Breastfeeding Counsellor for the Australian Breastfeeding Association and is qualified in remedial massage and baby massage instruction.

Originally coming from the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney, and having relocated to the Central/Western region of NSW, Debra believes that easy access to specialised health services is critical for regional, rural and remote communities. Her practice offers home visits or online consultations within the region to more ideally support breastfeeding mothers and babies.

In Debra’s spare time, she enjoys reading, writing, researching the family tree, travelling and catching up with her three sons (two of whom are now grown).
