Join the UNGA 72 Social Media Relay!

The 72nd Regular Session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 72) has convened and the General Debate on the theme ‘Focusing on People: Striving for Peace and a Decent Life for All on a Sustainable Planet’ will open on 19 September 2017.

A sustainable planet can only be achieved through multi-level partnerships, with all actors working together across common goals and action. Every Woman Every Child (EWEC) works to improve the health of women, children and adolescents globally. This year, WABA is proud to work with EWEC to unite our voices and amplify our messages during the UNGA 72.

EWEC aims to create a streamlined conversation and unite partners through their events, including a social media relay between September 18-21, 2017 covering 4 main themes – Accountability, It’s our Business, Empower and Partnerships.

As a partner, WABA has developed posts and visuals that relate to each of the themes above, as well as our campaigns including:
1.   World Breastfeeding Week (#WBW2017)
2.   Empowering Parents Campaign (#EmpoweringParentsCampaign)
3.   Warm Chain of Support for Breastfeeding (#WarmChain).

Together, we have to be part of the effort to achieve sustainable development by 2030. Let us align the protection, promotion and support of breastfeeding with broader efforts to achieve the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). You too can join the relay and make your voice heard. All you have to do is:

Step 1: Access the WABA posts and visuals here

Step 2: Share these messages on your social media platforms with the hashtag:
1.    #UNGA72
2.    #EWECisME
3.    #WBW2017

Step 3: like/follow us on social media:
1.    @WABA.WBW (Facebook)
2.    @WABAsecretariat (Twitter)
3.    WBW_GOALS (Instagram)

Let’s make our voices heard and take ownership of the Sustainable Development Goals. Join the UNGA 72 now!
